In the 80’s decade of last century of immediate past millennium Government of Bangladesh took initiative for developing the private sector in Agriculture, Fisheries, Livestock arena through modernization.  As a pathfinder national consultant SMECS initiated to support private sectors through guiding their clients in agriculture, fisheries and livestock projects under 1st, 2nd and 3rd IDA and ADB funded projects through Sonali, Rupali, Janata, Agrani, BKB,RKUB etc and SABINCO Funded projects. SMECS also supports in NGO sectors to BRAC, GSS under British ODA, Australian AID, Nowrad, SIDA, CIDA Grant.

SMECS was the national first consulting firm who introduced Modern Integrated Intensive Fish & Agriculture Project. SMECS first started the slogan in 1984 “ 2 Ton fish per bigha and 1 Ton Shrimp per acre of Land. “ SMECS introduced modern fish culture equipment’s in Directorate of Fisheries. At that time SMECS introduced new design of low cost semi pacca cattle shed, goat shed,, duck shed, poultry shed etc.

Rural areas clients adopting modern technology under bank finance projects got tremendous production but the local markets were not sufficient to assume sufficient products. After a few days Bank finance borrowers SMECS clients failed to pay the bank installment due to marketing failure. Due to failure of preservation of their products SMECS clients fall in jeopardy.

SMECS saving their clients introduce cutting, sizing, cleaning, packaging frozen vegetables, fish, beef, mutton and chicken marketing under the name and style of “PROTEIN BANK” in 1987 in Iqbal Road Mohammadpur, Dhanmondi, Katabon, Gulshan etc. in Dhaka. It was then inaugurated by the then Governor of Bangladesh Bank, Mr. Segufta Bokth Chowdhury. Freezing fish and meet are detested it was then a taboo in the society, but practically it was not true. It was very early stage for adopting such marketing at that time. At the time of political unrest in Ershad regime, SMECS fall in huge loss due to breaking supply chain from remote area .In that turmoil period SMECS was compelled to shut down their project in 1990.

SMECS organized growers for vegetables, agricultural products, fish items, chicken items, mutton items, beef items, fisherman for river fish, through “SWAJON COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SOCIETY”

SMECS now again decided to support their clients in agro product marketing under the name and style of SMECS PROTEIN BANK. In the stage SMECS PROTEIN BANK will provide cutting, sizing, cleaned package vegetable, fish, shrimp, beef, mutton, chicken and spices as per requirement of body depending on weight, height, age and genetic disease   prescribed by SMECS Nutrition Club & SMECS Health Club. Avoiding unnecessary food, minimizing budget, keeping good health forming a healthy and disease free member based community.
